Recently, Carroll Place, a Mercy Medical assisted living community, held its traditional Hawaiian Luau. More than 60 attendees that included family members, residents, friends and the staff of Carroll Place, enjoyed singing, hula dancing and tropical refreshments. The event featured festive live entertainment by Mark Palmer,Treasured Memories Antiques owner, who delighted everyone with his beautiful vocal rendition of Hawaiian music selections. An outstanding variety of Polynesian fare was prepared by Carroll Place’s dietary staff. The residents and guests danced to the Hawaiian tunes into the evening as some of the younger attendees wowed the crowd with their hula dance moves. Colorful shirts, grass skirts and leis were the choice of fashion and added to the fabulous décor. The ladies wore special floral hairclips handmade by Carroll Place’s beautician, Michelle Jackson.
“The Annual Carroll Place Luau is one of the residents' favorite parties of the year. It's the perfect summer celebration with colorful outfits, umbrella drinks, a tasty meal and plenty of hula dancing.” It's fun for all ages,” shared Kathy Gibson, Carroll Place’s senior living consultant.
