Mercy Memory Care

For caregivers responsible for the safety of loved ones with Alzheimer's or dementia, Mercy offers a state-of-the-art memory care community, the John McClure Snook Regional Center, and several memory care programs. The John McClure Snook Regional Center is architecturally designed as a secure, comforting home for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The Snook Center's floor plan creates a safe, caring environment where memory-impaired residents or program participants can live with dignity in an atmosphere of love and understanding. Memory-focused activities, group exercise and the sights and sounds of yesteryear enrich their lives and enhance their health and lifestyle.

In addition to memory-care residency, Mercy also offers Respite or short term, overnight stays and an Adult Day Program at John McClure Snook Regional Center. The Adult Day Program is the only adult day care in Baldwin County. Mercy memory-care programs offer safety and structure for its participants, specially trained caregivers and a registered nurse on staff, a monthly support group, nutritious meals, morning and afternoon memory-focused activities, a private bedroom and bathroom, and the home-like, memory-enhanced environment of John McClure Snook Regional Center.

Memory Screening and Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Groups FREE & available to the public at the John McClure Snook Regional Center every 3rd Tuesday each month, from 1-5 pm. Mercy also administrates Project Lifesaver, the most effective national program for locating and rescuing participants with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, and other related mental disorders. Project Lifesaver relies on advanced technology and a highly trained rapid response team of law enforcement agencies. Participants wear wristband transmitters that emit signals picked up by special receivers with directional antennas. Project Lifesaver maintains individual profiles that include vital statistics on its enrolled participants that are readily available if they wander and become lost.

The Senior Living Consultant or the Administrator would be happy to discuss admission criteria or enrollment.
