Mercy Home Care

Often we take for granted the ordinary, the everyday. But when you are recovering from an illness or injury, these things become great blessings. Mercy Medical provides compassionate, personal and medical care to patients in the comfort of their homes throughout Mobile and Baldwin counties. Since 1981, Mercy Home Care has been expanding its services to meet the healthcare needs along the Gulf Coast.

Mercy Home Care is an ideal alternative for homebound individuals of any age whose condition does not require hospitalization but does require continuing care, pain management, treatment or instruction.

Mercy offers five specialized home care programs:

Mercy home care programs utilize an interdisciplinary team. Under the direction of a medical director, the team develops and manages a patient's plan of care, augmented by daily communication and meetings.

Mercy team includes:

the patient's physician; a medical director; specialized nurses; physical, occupational, respiratory and recreational therapists; speech-language pathologist; social worker; registered dietitian; and chaplain.

Mercy accepts referrals from orthopedists, neurologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists and other clinicians. Mercy services encompass but are not limited to wound management, radiology services, physical therapy, social work services, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, respiratory therapy, post-surgery care, cardiovascular rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, pain management, urology management and rehabilitation nursing.

Mercy Home Care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, worker’s compensation and private payment. Medicare and Medicaid require patients be referred by a physician, have a medical condition requiring the care of a nurse and be homebound (except for occasional outings).
