How You Can Help > Giving OpportunitiesSince 1949, Mercy Medical has served thousands of families in Mobile and Baldwin counties. From pediatric home care to skilled nursing, hospice, rehab, home health and residential communities, Mercy is there at times of crisis and transition for those in need. In todays healthcare environment, costs are steadily increasing, while reimbursements from Medicare, Medicaid and insurance are not. The gap between costs and reimbursements continues to increase, creating a growing need for community support. While Mercy's excellent healthcare programs are well established and recognized nationally, Mercy depends on the generosity of the community to help underwrite more than $1 million of non-reimbursed care each year. As a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, Mercy Medical accepts tax-deductible donations made by cash, check, credit card payment, or transfer of stocks and bonds. An unrestricted gift allows Mercy maximum flexibility in using funds where they are most needed. However, donors may choose to specify a specific program, such as hospice. Mercys Tribute & Memorial gifts program is a wonderful way to help fulfill Mercys mission to serve those in need, while honoring a friend or loved one. Each gift is promptly acknowledged to those named by the donor, without specifying the gift amount. Planned Gifts, including bequests made in a will, charitable gift annuities, and appreciated assets such as stocks, real estate, and insurance, offer opportunities for tax savings while supporting Mercy Medical. Mercy depends on generous support to remain faithful to its mission and its reputation for excellence, and to meet ever-increasing healthcare needs. Donations to Mercy Medical help ensure that the same care the community has come to trust and rely on will be here when it is most needed.
