An unrestricted gift allows Mercy Medical maximum flexibility in using funds where they are most needed. However, you also may designate your gift for a specific program. Mercy Medical is a not-for-profit provider of healthcare services. Mercy Medical annually underwrites over half a million dollars to subsidize the healthcare of persons living in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Mercy depends on community support to meet the increasing demand and escalating expense of providing care. Unrestricted gifts are appreciated as they are used where the need is greatest, but gifts may also be designated for particular Mercy programs or services such as "Mercy LIFE of Alabama," Alabama's new Program of All Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE); hospice; Project Lifesaver; or Guardian Angel, which supports pediatric home care in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Mercy Medical also hosts annual fundraising events such as the Charity Golf Tournament and other special events. Individuals who support Mercy Medical by purchasing tickets and attending events also help to sustain our programs.
Planned Giving The Mercy Medical Planned Giving Program allows donors to make a lasting statement about their vision for our community's future while receiving full advantage of tax deductions and tax savings. A planned gift is a gift or commitment made in the present, with the benefit to Mercy Medical "deferred" until a future date. A gift to Mercy Medical will create a legacy of caring for generations to come. A gift can perpetuate the annual campaign gifts given during a donor's lifetime, can be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and can provide for a more secure future for a donor's family and community.
Planned gifts fall under three major categories: Bequests, Trusts/Life Income Gifts and Non-cash gifts.
