Holistic Team Approach

Mercy Medical works with patients of all ages, from the very young to the most senior. Our goal is to enable patients, residents and their families to achieve and sustain their maximum level of functional independence and quality of life. The key to Mercy Medical's approach is the integration of the different disciplines for the benefit of the patients. We achieve this though our team of healthcare professionals that continually works to determine the best plan of care for each patient or resident. Working with physicians, each program's interdisciplinary team establishes individualized treatment plans that direct overall courses of intensive therapy, specialized clinical services and/or other patient activities.

The interdisciplinary teams may include a physician, registered nurses, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a speech pathologist, a recreational therapist, a respiratory therapist, a social worker, a pharmacist, a dietitian, and a chaplain. Together, these professionals craft a plan, which they modify as treatment occurs. Using a holistic approach, Mercy treats the patients' mind, body and spirit in a seamless operation, which contributes significantly to successful outcomes.
